District Governor Jim Bixler

Jim Bixler became a charter member of the third Muscatine Lions Club in December 2003. Formally starting out as first vice president on Charter night in January 2004. Became interim president in April of same year. Served as club president twice, 2004-2005 and 2012-2013. Served as Treasurer 2006-2007, 2013-2016 and part of 2008. Served as Secretary 2013-2014. At district level served as Zone Chairman in 9×9 2006-2008, Iowa Lions Foundation trustee 2013-2015, 2nd Vice District Governor 2015-2016, 1st Vice District Governor 2016-2017. On the state level served as President of Iowa Lions Foundation 2015-2016. Attended Great Plains Lions Leadership Institute 2012, Advance Lions Leadership Institute 2015 and attended USA/Canada Leadership Forum 2013, 2015, and 2016.

While serving with the Iowa Lions Foundation he volunteered as a camp consular at Camp Courageous of Iowa during Lions Visual Impairment camp week 2014-2016 so to better inform other lions and give back. Volunteered during the hosting of World Series for Beep Baseball 2016. Is the recipient of a Warren Coleman Honorary Award, progressive Melvin Jones fellow, Presidential Lions Leadership Award, and Presidential medal.
