A Message from District Governor CONNIE S. INMAN
Welcome, Maquoketa and Palo Lions and Lancer Leos to 9EC.

Welcome to the new Lions Clubs of Iowa District 9EC website. District 9EC (East Central) includes the counties of Muscatine, Scott, Clinton, Jackson, Jones Linn & Cedar. Our District is but a part of the 200 countries and geographical areas that is home to this great organization.

The Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs are happy to share our information with you so you may understand why we are involved with service to our communities, both local and around the world. There are 1.3 million men, women and young people all working together to share with people who are in need of our personalized services.

Through our web site I hope that you become interested in learning more of what we are about, and that you will be willing to join with us no matter where you call home. Please use the various sites in the left column to access the information you may be interested in exploring. The seven counties within our District all have several Lions Clubs within easy reach of your location. You may contact any of the clubs should you be interested in joining one in your community. If there isn't a Lions Club in your community, contact the District Governor about several ways you may participate.

Lions main thrust is for Sight and Hearing impairment, but we are also involved with aid to diabetes research. We collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids through-out the District. These collections are cleaned, prescriptions read, packaged and sent on to locations where they are most needed.

We are also involved with a program called Iowa KidSight. This is a Sight related program geared toward early detection of eyesight problems in young people 6 mo. to 48 mo. of age. Screenings are scheduled through-out this District and around the State. Check in with us to possibly find a screening close to your home.
